We are proud to share that Susan Petersen, co-founder of Petersen & Petersen, was recently awarded the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys’ (CATA) inaugural Excellence in Advocacy Award—a meaningful and deeply earned recognition of her impact in the courtroom and beyond.
This award celebrates not only Susan’s exceptional results on behalf of her clients but her unwavering commitment to integrity, mentorship, and the advancement of the civil justice system. For Susan, it was more than an award—it was a full circle moment.
“Full circle moment this week. ❤️🥂
I was 30 years old when I went to my first Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys dinner. I was so excited to have a seat at the table. I was 5 months pregnant with my first. Could I be a great trial lawyer and a great mom? I wasn’t sure. I was determined.
CATA became my home and its members my tribe. They taught me. They led by example. They held out hands and pulled me up. Had someone told me back then that I’d receive its inaugural Excellence in Advocacy Award, I wouldn’t have believed it. 😊
Four kids and 23 years later, here I stand. I am so incredibly proud.
Dream big ladies. Be intentional. Lead by example. Don’t watch life happen—make it happen.”
Susan’s leadership, grit, and clarity of purpose continue to inspire our firm and the broader legal community. We celebrate this honor—and the journey that led to it—with deep pride and gratitude.
